Origin and Tradition

Bijar, located in the Kurdistan region of Iran, is renowned for its exceptional rug-making tradition. Known as the “Iron Rugs of Persia,” Bijar rugs are celebrated for their durability and robust construction. The weavers in this region employ a specific technique involving a heavy comb that compresses the wefts, resulting in a dense and sturdy texture. This region has a rich history of carpet weaving, influenced by the mountainous landscape and the nomadic lifestyle of its people, which often incorporates traditional motifs and patterns.

Design and Pattern

The rug features a vibrant and rich color palette, including rustish-red, navy blue, cream, beige, black, forest green, light blue, gold, salmon pink, and white.
